ALLEGATIONS AGAINST ME BY DISSOLVED SUPERVISORY COUNCILLORS ARE UNTRUE, VINDICTIVE & TRANSFER OF AGGRESSION-DACHUNG YOHANNA CHOJI, JOS SOUTH COUNCIL BOSS

In reaction to the allegations of secret meetings, absence in office, neglect of party members et al by the dissolved Supervisory Councillors of Jos South LGC by the Plateau State House of Assembly, the Chairman of the Jos South Management Committee, Hon.Dachung Yohanna Choji spoke to a select Media Executives on the issues raised. 
The Jos South Council boss debunked all allegations, describing them as untrue, malicious, vindictive, a case of  pull him down syndrome, transfer of aggression and the  case of "we must all go down together ".

Newsgate Magazine: Sir, there are allegations raised by the outgoing Supervisory Councillors of Jos South LGC, calling for your sack, what do you have to say in regards to that?

Hon DachungYohannaChoji: There was a pronouncement by the House of Assembly on the 9th July to dissolve Councillors of the four LGCs of Jos North, Jos South and Riyom, by the virtue of that as a Local Government Chairman, my Supervisory Councillors cease to exist and I want them to also know that I wasn't the one that dissolved them but it was the Plateau State House of Assembly.After everything, we talked with them and I told them to stay away as per the orders by the State Government.So we sat with them and discussed extensively.Some of them said "if  they must go,we must all go too".I tried explaining everything to them but they kept insisting that I made the decision to dissolve them all. I told them if there was any information from the State Government, I would relay to them and since then accusations started which is not true as stated in the letter. They first brought the accusations of  financial issues and schedules with the DPM's and DFS's which there is a financial regulations backing that, where the Chairman, DPM and DFS are the financial officers of the office. We sit in a normal,Financial and General Purpose Committee (F&GPC) meeting and take resolutions. They also talk about the fact that I do not come to the office promptly, but as an Executive, I have other functions to perform outside of the office. They also talked about not holding meetings at party Secretariat, which I have been doing.So I do not know why they went ahead to write such a long letter, which is not even true, but in truth they want to tarnish my image.

Newsgate Magazine: Do you see this as a political issue where some members of the opposition are using some of them  to scuttle the achievement of the present government?

Hon Dachung Yohanna Choji:Yes, it could be possible, because I feel there is a face behind it,but I cannot tell exactly who that person is. They also claimed that there is a slow movement and activities in the Local Government, but they know that approvals must be given to work before executing projects. Alot of people told me to abandon projects that were started by the former Chairman, but I said we are one government and I must continue for progress in the Local Government.

Newsgate Magazine: What is your relationship with the stakeholders of the party, LG and those that feel the council is not taking them along?

Hon.Dachung Yohanna Choji: Well the problem of not holding meetings couldn't be possible because of the Coronavirus Pandemic ,but from time to time, I call them and meet with them. The 15% we were asks to pay have been paid for the running of the party. We have a cordial relationship.

Newsgate Magazine: Do you see transfer of anger and the  pull him down syndrome in those dissolved by the House of Assembly as the  cause for their writing this?

Hon Dachung Yohanna Choji: I think it is a transfer of aggression and the pull him down syndrome that led to all these.

Newsgate Magazine: What is your call to the supervisory councillors?

Hon Dachung Yohanna Choji: I want them to be calm and I will not fight them. Let them also know that they will be leaders like me one day and they will not feel nice when this is done to them. There are better ways of resolving issues.
