TEXT OF YEAR 2020 EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF QUAAN PAN LGC HON. ISAAC KYALE KWALLU (FCIA, FCIPMA)

To the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit !

Happy Easter to the Quality and Progressive people of Quaan Pan LGA, Plateau State-Nigeria and the whole world !

We felicitate with all the inhabitants of Quaan Pan Local Government Area, as we join all Christians the world over in marking this year’s Easter.

We are indeed very mindful of the personal and collective inconveniences suffered by our people due to measures such as restriction of movements, unusual worship activities and closure of business premises.

The COVID-19 Pandemic which has become a threat to “living the faith” and human existence in general, has left us struggling with mixed feelings due to measures taken by government at all levels and medical experts which may hinder the usual ways of marking the Easter season.

Therefore, there is need for us to sacrifice, to be united, to be obedient and to be prayerful; as our hope is built in the face of this Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic and other challenges confronting humanity.

However, as believers, Easter which is the most important season in the Christian calendar and represents God’s redemptive mission over humanity, the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair and good over evil, is our stronghold.

So, as we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I admonished us to also use this time to live the Christ-like virtues of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, humility, courage and endurance, which Christ embodied and remarkably demonstrated during His earthly ministry.

We encourage that we disabuse our minds about the merriments, let us be more reflective and solemn this season, even as we seek the face of God amidst the trials, as Christ redemptive Spirit cleanse the world.

Being a matter of life and death, these sacrifices of adherence to government and medical directives are in everybody’s interest to save our local government and State from calamity.

We salute the “encouraging” containment and ameliorating strategies put in place by members of the Presidential, State and Local Government Task Force on COVID-19. We also commend individuals and groups who have demonstrated responsibility in the fight against the dreaded disease.

We urged the people to use this auspicious season to be hopeful, to show love to their neighbours, and cater to the needs of the less-privileged in our midst.

Remember to adhere to the advice of health personnel and cooperate with Government officials to avoid the spread of Covid19; most importantly, by keeping social distance, regular washing of hands with running water/soap or sanitizer and avoid crowded places.

Please let's all take responsibility, our health is our priority.
Without reservation, let’s congratulate our dear Plateau State on the status of no confirmed case.

We wish all, a blessed Easter season.

Thank you, stay home, stay safe, COVID-19 is real.
